Then hold the paw somewhat firmly and apply pressure on the top of the paw as stated above. Follow the same process as discussed above, but apply some pressure on the kitty to keep him calm and laying down thus he can't struggle or scratch you. Talking quietly to your cat throughout the nail trimming will comfort and ease your pet.
