In the late autumn the creepy crawlers came scurrying into our house from their outside nests seeking asylum from the future winter winds and cold. If there is one thing I can't stand it is spiders. One night I was awoken by the howling wind and a scary dream to discover with horror, just above my head on the ceiling was a horrible, hairy, eight legged creature which seemed to sense my fear and came crawling towards me in a slow but determined manner. It was just when we turned on the lights which we saw with utter despair that the arachnid invader was not alone - he had an army - all over the house they were dotted, crouching in corner, crawling down walls. Right, it was time for concerted action.

When finally we'd done, and not a furry leg or web could be found in the entire house, we breathed a collective sigh of relief. We were drained but pleased.
