Iscar Adds Their Most Recent Creations To A Extended Line Of Prosperous Hole Making Solutions
Iscar recently released a number of different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These innovative products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their skill Iscar has come up with brand new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the customer. Here is a little bit about these cutting edge products, and how they will serve the end user of these products.
SUMOCHAM Drills
ISCAR's new SUMOCHAM drill family is an advanced development of the highly effective CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET drill families. The drill features twisted coolant nozzles with indexable drilling heads which are available in different head configurations for various material groups. SUMOCHAM drills can be used on milling centers or lathes.
SUMOCHAM includes four different standard drill head geometries, designed for unmatched performance and high dependability. The drill head is constructed with a sharp cutting edge and polished flutes. SUMOCHAM drilling heads are offered in the diameter range of 8 to 25.9 mm. The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, constant chip flow and a ground gash for enhanced penetration.
The drill shank design is according to DIN 9766 standard, with available drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies feature coolant through holes. The accurate cylinder added to the clamping portion improves rigidity and reduces internal stresses. The rotation stopper planes are accurately ground, to increase the control on the drilling head position and support, increasing tool performance and life. ISCAR's innovative SUMOCHAM drill line will furnish longer tool life and higher productivity.
DR-DH Deep Drills
DR-DH drills can obtain drilling depth-to-diameter ratio of 7XD and up. Engineered to be employed on standard horizontal milling centers, turning, and multi-task machines. Use of supplementary machine and setup can be avoided. They will be offered as semi-standard product in a diameter range of 25.4 to 69.5 mm (1.00 - 2.73").
Two versions will be available:
A Single Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FS is a very stiff tool having a patented chip gullet design. It was built for easily cut materials like cast iron and low alloyed steel.
A Double Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FD has a double chip gullet for enhanced chip flow. It was built for drilling gummy materials such as non-alloyed steel and high temperature alloys.
ISCAR DEEP HOLE DRILLS
With ISCAR's innovative solid carbide deep hole drills, you can safely drill up to 22 times diameter and arrive bottom10% faster than with other solid carbide drills - and six times faster than a HSS drill. This ability can speed up many high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer needs to slow down a transfer line or stop it completely because a drill breaks.
Other target applications include deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A combination of features help the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and expel chips more surely. A unique high-strength core creates a more enduring drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the departure path for chips.
The drill tip itself has a 140 positive-point, four-margin design to preserve the edge, reduce thrust forces and help centering and tracking. A post-coat polishing measure on the flutes, margins and cutting edges reduces friction and torque that can quickly snap a drill.
The brand new drills are found in standard diameters ranging from 5 to 10 mm, in 20 and 22 length to diameter ratios. Special sizes are obtainable on request. All are made of IC908, a 10% cobalt submicron carbide grade, and comes with a TiAlN PVD coating, and can be refurbished.
