Everyone needs to have a peace sign necklace to remind them of how we should live. I believe that despite the truth that we cannot alter the fact that there will usually be wars, we can still modify the manner we deal with each other. With only a bit more effort on everyone's part we could have a relatively safe and peaceful nation to live in. Imagine if we all managed to set away our own wishes and wants, and rather focused on the needs of others. Whenever I think of the 60's and 70's the one thing that stands out so clearly other than the flowers and weed is the peace sign. It had an almost cult following affect on the men and women of that time. Everyone wore one regardless of race, sex, or color. It acted as a unifying symbol of all the things that we wished to get. Unfortunately like many right aspirations this one has been passed by as well. There are many of people in the 21 century who own these peace sign necklaces and peace sign pendants and proudly wear them displayed for all to see, but no one seems to realize the true meaning anymore.

Without the meaning of the peace sign, its importance is lost. Anybody can point it out and say what it is, but hardly anybody can really tell you how important it is to the world.
