A Teen Challenges Her Drinking Pals To Dig Up More Information About Alcoholism And Alcohol Abuse

Heather drank quite excessively on a usual basis with her classmates. One Wednesday after school she started thinking about the amount of alcohol she ingested on a regular basis and the excessive and irresponsible drinking of her friends. As a result of this, she courteously asked all of her classmates the following question: "what do we truly know about alcohol abuse, alcoholism, binge drinking, and alcohol poisoning? That is to say, how much alcoholism and alcohol abuse information do we honestly know? For our young age, we certainly drink a lot and I am really beginning to wonder if we are headed for a life filled with alcohol-related problems when we become adults.

I believe that we need to go on the Internet and find out all that is possible about alcohol abuse, binge drinking, alcohol poisoning, and alcoholism. And then if we have any issues that we really do not understand after we complete our Internet research, we can drive to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Grainger to help us understand what we cannot comprehend.

It should not come as a huge surprise that what Heather stated would lead to a heated discussion. As a case in point, her best friend since the first fourth, Kelly, said that they are too healthy and too young to be concerned about irresponsible and abusive drinking. Another classmate named Sebastian reasoned that since most adolescents drink there is no valid reason why they should be any different. Another drinking friend named Jazmyn said that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her pals. And still another friend named Nickolas in reality agreed with Heather basically because his parents were both alcohol abusers and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related problems.

Heather openly stated to her buddies that she understood everything that they had stated but that involving oneself in careless and excessive drinking at such a young age in all honesty cannot be very healthy or something that contributes toward establishing a worthwhile life. When two or three of her pals asked what kind of alcohol problems Heather was referring to, Heather stated the following: alcohol-related problems like alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, alcoholism, and alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances) and alcohol-related diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver, cancer, and heart disease.

When Heather then emphasized that irresponsible drinking commonly results in school, financial, relationship, and legal problems, some of her drinking pals finally began to comprehend how comprehensive and how debilitating irresponsible and hazardous drinking can be. Without a doubt some of her classmates opened up and started to tell how these alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse effects had affected their parents and some of their friends.

After emphasizing some of the alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse problems that are related to abusive and excessive drinking, the majority of her drinking pals seemed to like the idea about getting information on the Internet. They were, on the other hand, hesitant to discuss their drinking situations with anyone at school. As Heather thought about this she told herself, "at least they want to learn more about their excessive and abusive drinking. This is an excellent start."
